OUR  STORY

The image shows an Aboriginal art symbol for people gathering. It has a circular design with connecting arcs and traditional dot patterns in earthy colours like ochre, brown and white inside the symbol.

At EPIC Pathways, we are dedicated to empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth through connection, support, and opportunity. Our journey began in late 2023, when following the Voice to Parliament, we were driven by our collective commitment to create meaningful change.

Australia’s history has often overlooked the enduring contributions of First Nations peoples, and our education systems fail to address the unique challenges faced by our youth. EPIC Pathways was founded to change this, placing First Nations perspectives and solutions at the forefront.

Our purpose is to build connections that foster understanding and collaboration between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. We honor historical truths, celebrate our cultures, and empower our youth to lead with strength and purpose.

In partnership with the University of Queensland and we’ve created a university-based mentoring program shaped by consultations with Elders, educators, and students. As an First Nations-led, not-for-profit educational charity, EPIC Pathways supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students on their educational journeys and into meaningful pathways.

A vibrant workshop setting featuring a diverse group of participants. Attendees, seated on chairs and the floor, engage attentively with a presenter on stage. A colorful board and a projected slide enhance the interactive environment.

Our goals are to:

  • To support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students through school and into positive pathways

  • To provide a platform for university students to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander high school students through mentoring and tutoring

  • To be a bridge between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians through story, truth telling and two way learning.

At EPIC, we are inspired by the strength of our communities, building pathways that honor our cultures and shape a more inclusive future for all.

EPIC embraces diversity and inclusion by providing an inclusive mentoring and work environment. We welcome everyone, irrespective of age, sex, gender, sexuality, religion, size and ability.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Flags

EPIC honors and respects the Traditional Owners and Custodians of Country throughout Australia. We deeply value their enduring connection to the land, water, and community. With heartfelt reverence, we acknowledge their rich cultures and pay tribute to the Elders past, present, and emerging.

The image shows the Accessibility Flag, designed to represent people with disabilities. The flag features a simple and clear design with a blue background. In the centre, there is a black, stylised figure of a person positioned in the middle of the flag. This symbol is placed on a neutral background to emphasise the focus on accessibility and inclusion for individuals with disabilities.

We are committed to ensuring accessibility for people with disabilities. This includes digitally, in school, and on the journey to a positive post schooling pathways.
